India 2014, my first massage client. I know it’s real in me because I never chose it, it has always chosen me. I found myself studying hands-on therapy a few times during my life with absolutely no idea of what I was doing or why. It just happened. In the stillness of today I finally understand.

A year ago today I decided to drop everything I had and travel alone to the other side of the world. I decided to follow my calling and go after the real me. Only those who know me well know how much this trip changed me, and what I went through there.

A year since I knew what it was to focus only on me and forget the rest of the world. A year since I fell in love, still more, with Asia and in particular my country from the heart — India. Thank you for everything you have taught me and made me feel. Gagori, thank you especially, for all the tears I cried that made me an even stronger woman.

Doing any course with Gagori at Aithein is a life-changing adventure. I did the 4 Weeks Ayurveda course in March and not only met many wonderful lifelong friends but was shown how to look at the world and myself in a very different way. They say when the student is ready the teacher will appear. Well, she did. She is a very old, wise soul in a very young body, and she will expect your best.

The accommodation made me feel like I was away from the tourists, in nature, part of a family with the other students. Having monkeys bounce on your roof occasionally and watching the wildlife was truly magical. I will definitely be back. And if you are able to do any of Nikhil’s sound healing — do.

I really enjoyed the Indian head massage course. I learnt a lot in only four days. I would definitely be interested in studying here again. It’s a great school.

The most exciting thing I found in the course is that any individual, just like me with no experience, can be initiated into the magical world of massage. You do not need to be a professional therapist to understand it. The instructor leads you through step by step, clearly, easily, and with a lot of fun.

We are a husband and wife team who graduated in March 2010. A little over a year after leaving, we are already the owners and operators of a full-time massage business.
